The Mayor of Rugby

The Mayor of Rugby is the first citizen of Rugby. The Mayor provides community leadership and can help businesses and organisations by drawing attention to their cause. The role of the Mayor is ceremonial with no decision-making powers beyond their role as a councillor.

Cllr Barbara Brown was elected Mayor of Rugby on 15 May 2025 at the Annual Meeting of Rugby Borough Council.

Her term of office runs to May 2026.

For her Mayoral theme, Cllr Brown plans to promote 'hearts and minds' to highlight the importance of physical and mental wellbeing.
