The Mayor of Rugby

The Mayor of Rugby is the first citizen of Rugby. The Mayor provides community leadership and can help businesses and organisations by drawing attention to their cause. The role of the Mayor is ceremonial with no decision-making powers beyond their role as a councillor.

Cllr Simon Ward was elected Mayor of Rugby on 16 May 2024 at the Annual Meeting of Rugby Borough Council. His term of office runs to May 2025.

Cllr Barbara Brown was elected Deputy Mayor of Rugby. Her term of office also runs to May 2025.

For his Mayoral theme, Cllr Ward plans to promote Rugby's youth.
